Bridge of Hope – Harrisburg
Duaphin, York and Cumberland Counties
8-10 volunteers team up as a “neighboring” group to provide support, encouragement, and mentoring to single mothers who are struggling to maintain a home. The program for each mother generally runs for 12-24 months. Although volunteers may create their own neighboring group, LHM Foundation can also place smaller cohorts of volunteers together to form a “neighboring” group.

Susquehanna Harbor Safe Haven
1805 N 12th St, Harrisburg, PA 17103
Men residing at Safe Haven who are transitioning from homelessness may have the opportunity to move from a collective shelter setting at the facility to a private room. Volunteers will “adopt” the room prior to a new resident moving in to help make it feel more like a home through minor improvements, including, e.g., fresh paint, curtains, an area rug and gently used simple bedroom furniture.
